M.Sc Anna Heleveria

I obtained my bachelor’s degree in 2014 from Donetsk National University (Ukraine) and my master’s degree in 2019 from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (Ukraine). My professional experience also includes working at the Ukrainian Scientific Pharmacopoeial Center for Quality of Medicines.

I joined Dr. Kovaricek’s group in March 2022, where I integrated my skills and experience with the host laboratory’s research. Currently, I am a doctoral student at both V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and UCT Prague, working towards innovative and original contributions in this field.

My background is deeply rooted in organic synthesis and crystal engineering, with expertise in a wide range of transformations leading to heterocyclic derivatives. I am proficient in synthesis schemes utilizing both “click” chemistry and multicomponent reactions. My experience also encompasses organometallic chemistry, particularly working with transition metals.

In February 2023, I was awarded a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA4Ukraine) grant for a two-year project focused on the development of pyridine and pyrimidine derivatives including transition metals, exploring their potential as heterogeneous catalysts in various reactions, including direct borylation, aziridination, hydroformylation, and dehalogenative reduction reactions. This research involves synthesizing compounds both in-flask and on surfaces, with a focus on surface functionalization for applications in luminescent devices, catalysis, and gas sensing.
