Dr. Beena Varghese

I received my master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University (India) in 2004. I completed my PhD (2015) and post-doctoral fellowship (2016) at Sultan Qaboos University (Oman) in the research group of Prof. Salma Al-Kindy and joined the Department of Chemistry at Sultan Qaboos University as a visiting faculty member (2017-2021). Presently, working as a post-doctoral fellow in Dr. Kovaricek research group (UCT, Prague) on the Engineering of Biomimetic Interfaces for the Modulation of T cell Activation. My research interests include novel fluorescent labels, their analytical applications, and fluorescent organic nanoparticles based on electron rich heterocyclic rings for application in biomedicine, sensors and in opto-electronics.
